We understand running machines faster and longer between insert changes is the best opportunity for making money and there is no substitute for quality when machining that efficiently. With Dura-Bar, the more a part is machined, the greater the potential cost savings. The main cost savings is realized because of Dura-Bar’s ability to machine more quickly than steel, often 2 to 3 times faster, translating into more piece production per hour. Dramatic reduction in the cost of the finished part can occur because of the free-machining characteristics of the material. Deburring costs can also be reduced or even eliminated. Additional cost savings are available when heat treating is involved.
